Roomul Atlas Journal

About

Roomul Atlas Journal is an independent publication about the history of maps, charts and navigation. It publishes short essays on how people drew the world, measured it and found their way across it, from medieval sailing charts to the survey work behind modern national maps.

The essays are written for readers who like the subject and do not need a specialist background. Each one aims to stay close to what the surviving sources and published scholarship support, and to say so where the evidence is thin.
